Approximately one million children are now being educated at home. Students who are homeschooled on the average have much higher scores on standardized achievement tests (25% above normal at the 75th percentile). According to a 1999 study by the ERIC Clearinghouse on Assessment and Evaluation, (Denver Post Online article August 29, 1999), the average eighthgrade homeschooled student performs four grade levels above the national average. There are several lists on homeschooling at Topica.com. There are almost 1,000 mail lists at Yahoo Groups for homeschooling. It might be helpful to join a group in your locality.

The Game Lady has a list for those interested in Games For Learning to make homeschool lessons fun. There are 1200 members, with 5 - 10 messages per day.
